True parent confession

This weekend, I have a nasty head cold. I will admit what I suspect most parents feel at this time--I was wishing that the children fairy would come and take mine away for a day or two so I could nap on the couch, drink tea, and read trashy novels until I feel better.

Me too! Except I wanted to watch trashy chick flicks. :)

I am so sorry about your cold..! Let me guess -- you caught it from one of your kids? Mine always bring me the craziest bugs, specifically purified in their little bodies to maximally afflict the parent (kids are up and running in 2 days, whereas a parent is out for a week...) Although a poor substitute for chicken soup, I'm sending you warm thoughts for a speedy recovery!

I'm wishing that the Children Fairy would give them better immune systems so that they stop bringing all sorts of shit home and making everyone sick. Or that the ventilation fairy would come and air out their classrooms, those nasty reservoirs of disease, so that they would't catch every cold from every other kid. Or even better, that the No-Sharing Fairy would sprinkle some magic dust every time they sneeze on each other (and me) or try and taste each other's lunches...

Thanks for the good wishes. I made it through my class today, and will work on proposals from home tomorrow. I hope I will be better by then.

Namnezia, I need some of your fairies too. This was a "gift" from LittleProdigal #2, who shrugged it off in half the time.
